England hooker George out for 8-10 weeks

England and Saracens have been dealt a blow with the news hooker Jamie George faces eight to 10 weeks on the sidelines with a ruptured bicep tendon.

George, who has come on as a replacement for skipper Dylan Hartley in each of England's three Six Nations matches to date, was hurt in a training session this week.

In addition to being ruled out for the rest of the Six Nations, the 25-year-old will also miss Saracens' European Champions Cup quarter-final against Northampton Saints next month in addition to a host of domestic fixtures.

England forwards coach Steve Borthwick said: "He will be out for a period of time, eight to 10 weeks has been suggested by the doctor."

As a result of George's setback, Luke Cowan-Dickie has been retained in England's squad for Saturday's potential championship decider against Wales at Twickenham.

Cowan-Dickie has one Test cap to his name, having come off the bench in a home fixture against France last August.
