Rob Miller scored two tries as Wasps stretched their winning run to four matches by beating fellow Premiership play-off contenders Northampton Saints 28-6 at fortress Ricoh Arena on Sunday.
Saints had won six of their last eight matches to improve their chances of securing a place in the top four before making the trip to Coventry, but came unstuck against Dai Young's in-form side.
Full-back Miller took an offload from Thomas Young to go under the posts 23 minutes in after George Smith had broken the line, with Jimmy Gopperth scoring five points with the boot and also striking the post as Wasps led 10-3 at the break.
Elliot Daly booted a mammoth long-range penalty to increase Wasps' advantage, then full-back Miller went over again after more good work from the influential Smith.
Jamie Stevenson added a third try late on following another Daly penalty and lengthy treatment for Saints scrum-half Lee Dickson, who was replaced after suffering a head injury.
Wasps are unbeaten at home this year and have now won 10 of their last 11 games in all competitions to sit just two points behind second-placed Exeter Chiefs, while Northampton remain four points adrift of Leicester Tigers in fifth.
