Back-rower Jack Dempsey is staying with Waratahs, signing with the Super Rugby club for another two seasons.
Dempsey, 22, is one of four development players joining the Wallabies on their Spring Tour of Europe.
Capped 14 times, Dempsey has recommitted to Waratahs – much to the delight of coach Daryl Gibson.
"Jack is amongst a number of new and exciting players that have stepped up this year and that I am sure fans will enjoy seeing [him] continue to progress," he said.
"Next year he has an opportunity to cement a regular starting spot and fulfil his enormous potential.
"Competition for back-row spots will be fierce and will push Jack to greater heights."
The re-signing is a boost for Waratahs, who missed the play-offs in 2016 after winning eight of 15 matches.
