Oyonnax full-back Silvere Tian has received a 14-month suspension from the French National Rugby League (LNR) for using "threatening words or actions against a match official".
Tian protested after being shown a yellow card by referee Romain Poite during Oyonnax's 27-20 Top 14 defeat to Grenoble on April 2, and the subsequent display of dissent resulted in a red card.
The 35-year-old begrudgingly made his way off the pitch at the Stade Charles Mathon but had to be forcibly held back from confronting the official following full-time.
Tian has subsequently been suspended until June 30, 2017.
The LNR's disciplinary commission also imposed a €10,000 fine upon Oyonnax "because of the behaviour of their player towards the referee".
