Benetton Treviso finally claimed their first victory of the season, at the 20th time of asking, with a hard-fought 13-7 home win over Cardiff Blues in the Pro12 on Saturday.
The Italian side had lost their first 13 Pro12 fixtures this term and were also beaten in each of their European Champions Cup pool matches.
However, a second-half penalty try – awarded after the Blues were adjudged to have pulled down a scrum – ensured Treviso's losing streak came to an end.
Treviso's previous win had come 12 months earlier in the corresponding fixture, when they triumphed 40-24.
Points proved much harder to come by on this occasion, the only try of the first half going to Cardiff's Blaine Scully after Treviso full-back Jayden Hayward had kicked two penalties.
Rhys Patchell's conversion gave the Blues a slender 7-6 lead at the interval, but Treviso's subsequent penalty try – converted by Hayward – proved decisive as the hosts held firm thereafter in the face of increasing pressure.
