Toulon have moved to allay concerns over the health of James O'Connor amid reports in the French media that the Australia international suffered a heart attack.
Reports indicated utility back O'Connor fell seriously ill as Toulon returned from their Top 14 clash with Oyonnax last Sunday.
It had been suggested the 25-year-old would be out for the foreseeable future following the incident.
However, a Toulon statement read: "The versatile back line player of Toulon Rugby Club James O'Connor was a victim of discomfort of undetermined origin after last Sunday's game in Oyonnax.
"In the interest of the player's health and the principle of precaution, James O'Connor has passed a series of tests and medical examinations in hospitals that were reassuring and satisfying.
"These examinations are continuing, but have no need to be performed in a hospital.
"Toulon Rugby Club and its medical service want to take the time to do all the necessary tests before the player resumes the competition but his rugby career is in no way called into question."
