Italy coach Brunel to take Bordeaux role

Italy boss Jacques Brunel has agreed a three-year contract to take over as Bordeaux-Begles forwards coach.

Brunel had already confirmed that he would end his reign as Italy head coach after the Six Nations ends this weekend.

And Top 14 outfit Bordeaux-Begles on Monday confirmed that the 62-year-old will to return to his homeland ahead of the 2016-17 season.

Brunel replaces Regis Sonnes on the Bordeaux coaching staff after spending five years in charge of Italy.

Italy have lost all four Six Nations matches so far and are unable to avoid the wooden spoon even if they beat Wales in Cardiff on Saturday.
