Waratahs lock Sam Lousi has made a switch in Super Rugby, joining Hurricanes on a multi-year deal.
Lousi, 24, will link up with the team ahead of the 2017 season, while he has also signed with Wellington Lions in the Mitre 10 Cup.
Formerly of the New Zealand Warriors in the NRL, Lousi said he was delighted to be returning to his homeland.
"It was a very hard decision to make as the Waratahs have given me the opportunity and I have enjoyed my time there," he said.
"When the opportunity came along to join the Hurricanes and move home it was too hard to turn down. I'm excited to be part of the team next season and also look forward to furthering my career."
Lousi made the switch from rugby league to union last year and Hurricanes coach Chris Boyd is excited by the addition.
He said: "Sam is a big, powerful man and has a lot of raw potential so we're looking forward to helping him develop his game. I'm sure he'll fit in really well at the Hurricanes."
